Choose an accessible channel
Request email, chat, written appointments or another suitable format. If video or audio explanations are used, ask for captions and a transcript. Confirm important statements in writing rather than relying on an informal conversation.
Ask about devices explicitly
Hearing aids, cochlear implants, batteries, servicing and speech-related rehabilitation may have different terms. Ask whether a device is covered, whether replacement is included and which provider or prescription rules apply.
Plan claim communication
Check how claim notices, hospital authorisations and additional-information requests can reach you accessibly. Record your preferred channel and verify that it is used. Keep copies of correspondence and claim reference numbers.
Individual assessment
A hearing impairment does not automatically establish overall medical risk or eligibility. Relevant conditions and requested benefits may be assessed individually. Our fictional simulation cannot decide a real proposal.
Questions to take with you
- Can all claim updates be provided in writing?
- Are aids and device servicing covered separately?
- Do explanatory videos have captions?
