Map your healthcare needs
List hospitalization, ongoing consultations, medicines, rehabilitation and assistive support separately. Consider which costs you can manage yourself and which risks would affect your financial security. A hospitalization policy may not address your routine support needs.
Read benefits with their conditions
For every benefit, check the definition, annual limit, exclusions and any requirement for a covered hospital admission. Ask whether a condition present before purchase is assessed individually, subject to a waiting period, or excluded. Get the response in writing and compare it with the actual policy schedule.
Choose on more than premium
A lower premium may come with higher co-payment, room limits or a deductible. Check renewal conditions and claim procedures. Hospital-network information changes; confirm a particular hospital and treatment directly rather than relying on a number in a comparison card.
Prepare for an assessment
Provide relevant information accurately through an insurer’s secure process. Ask what is necessary and why. Do not stop an ongoing treatment or minimise your needs to fit a questionnaire. Our reference illustrates questions and terms; it cannot evaluate your medical risks or recommend a real policy.
Questions to take with you
- Is my ongoing condition included, limited or excluded?
- Are outpatient care and rehabilitation listed separately?
- What would I pay myself in a sample claim?
