Insurance for people with autism

Autistic people have diverse needs. An assessment should focus on the individual and the policy, rather than assumptions about a label.

Choose your communication support

You may prefer written explanations, extra time to process information, or support from a trusted person. Ask for the communication format that works for you. Assistance should preserve your participation and consent.

Check therapy and outpatient terms

Speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioural support and outpatient consultations are not automatically covered by health insurance. Ask about each service, the provider requirements, session caps and whether a hospital admission is required.

Explore official support separately

Niramaya is an actual National Trust scheme for specified disability categories, including autism, subject to current enrolment and terms. Verify its rules on the official website. It is separate from every fictional plan on SereneLife.

Share only relevant context

Ask which medical information the insurer needs and why. A diagnosis alone does not describe someone’s daily support needs or financial circumstances. Our simulation never rejects an applicant on an autism selection.

Questions to take with you

  • Can we communicate in writing?
  • Are prescribed outpatient therapies covered?
  • Which official scheme terms apply to me?
